Vodafone Ghana has announced the launch of a ‘4G+’ LTE-A network using carrier aggregation (CA) technology to provide significantly increased download speeds and improved services. The company confirmed it plans to roll out the upgrade to most of its existing sites, starting with urban centres where demand for high speed connectivity is greatest.
Commenting on the development, Vodafone Ghana Technology Director Aatif Jamala Qidwal explained: ‘4G+ is not just a technical upgrade; it is about reshaping the online experience for our users. We are setting the stage for a transformative leap in mobile connectivity for Ghanaians, providing them faster download and upload speeds on 4G.’
Vodafone Ghana CEO Patricia Obo-Nai added: ‘We are so pleased with this fantastic upgrade; 4G+ is a major improvement to the experience that we give to our customers. This aligns with our vision of enabling a digital society where people, businesses and communities can connect seamlessly, and we will continue to do more and give more to our customers.’
